This sculpture, Between two breaths (Entre deux souffles), seems to hold back an impulse. The gesture is not complete yet, but it shows on the surface. Everything is there, in a silent balance, waiting.
The material, deliberately irregular, heightens this subtle tension As if the form still carried the memory of the breath that washed over it.

A female figure, the chest tensed, tilts into a suspended impulse. The gesture is not complete yet, it shows on the surface, between stillness and movement.
A held breath, a restrained impulse, ready to unfold. We sense that fragile moment: when energy shows on the surface, but does not release itself fully yet. It flows in silence, inwardly, as if the body itself hesitated to open. And yet, everything seems ready to extend, to open up. The material takes part in this silent tension: the engobe reveals deliberately irregular areas, hollows and smoothings, as if the form still carried the memory of the breath that washed over it.
The artwork stands there, at the fragile boundary between withdrawal and openness, leaving the continuation of the movement to others.
